MADISON, Wis — The Brat Fest looks a bit different this year with venues spread throughout Dane County, but the taste of beer on tap and Johnsonville Brats still gives that summer feeling for participants.
Along with many other events this year, The Brat Fest had to adjust to a new set up. With over 150 venues spread across the county, the event is limiting the size of the crowd.
“There’s live music all over the city because of it, there’s so much to do. I mean it’s memorial day weekend and it’s also allowing all these businesses to participate in ways they would have never been able to,” said organizer Gregg Potter.
The event is typically held at the Alliant Energy Center, Biting into the first brat of the season, people are finally getting a good taste of summer.
“It’s like the kick off to the summer that we didn’t have last year and this year we do,” said participant Natalie Campbell.
Typically held at the Alliant Energy Center, the fest is a weekend long event that works to raise money for local charities.
“Come out, support us, support the charities, have a brat, have a beer, enjoy live music. It’s time to do it again, we miss it everyone misses it,” said Campbell.
Organizers say it’s been great to not only support local charities, but to support local businesses as well.
“It benefits the community more than anything else could,” said Campbell.
Brat Fest will take place from May 28th to May 30th.
