LAKE DELTON, Wis. — The largest waterpark in the Wisconsin Dells is welcoming guests back this weekend for the start of the 2021 season.
Noah’s Ark is the largest park at the Wisconsin Dells and this weekend marks their official reopening since last summer.
“It felt great watching the guests come in and have a good time. It was a nice experience for our guests and for us as well,” said general manager Roland Reyes.
Last year, the park was only open for six weeks due to COVID. But this year employees say it was easier diving into the season as they felt more prepared and trained.
“People are more accustomed to the COVID restrictions so the ones we still have in place people are more used to,” said employee Stephanie Raffa.
The park is requiring masks for all people not vaccinated. Additionally, hand sanitizing stations are placed around the park and the Noah’s Ark team does nightly cleanings.
The parked opened on Saturday, May 29th. Managers say the capacity was light, but they expect more guests with warmer temperatures.
“It was a good day for the team to experience some guests and for the guests to get a nice day with not as big of a crowd we’ll see later in the season,” said Reyes.
Simon Patrisio is a guest visiting Noah’s Ark for a vacation and time away from home.
“I’m from Madison so we came all the way out here to go to the hotels, chill out and go to different places,” said Patrisio.
But employees are excited the park was able to open and happy to get back to work.
“I love working at a waterpark because I get to run around and be part of other peoples fun and vacations and keep people safe but also get to enjoy what I do,” said Raffa.
The park will continue following CDC guidelines. They are also offering new season passes and tickets for the 2021 season.
