MADISON, Wis. — People riding Metro buses in Madison will still be required to wear a mask at all times, even after the local health order mandating masks expires on June 2nd.
The City of Madison posted the notice Tuesday afternoon, about 8 hours before Public Health Madison & Dane County’s order expires. Metro bus riders will still be required to wear masks due to a federal order from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that requires all passengers and employees to wear masks while using all forms of public transportation, which includes Madison’s Metro buses.
Masks also will have to be worn when boarding and getting off the bus, as well as at all transfer points and bus stop shelters.
Those who aren’t wearing masks may be asked to stay off the bus.
As of now, the TSA’s order remains in effect until September 13, 2021.
