JUNEAU, Wis. — A Beaver Dam man was sentenced Wednesday in Dodge County Court for domestic abuse, according to a news release.
Jordan Kemper, 26, was convicted of domestic victim intimidation, domestic battery and domestic disorderly conduct. He will serve three years in prison, along with three years of extended supervision.
In July 2020, Kemper had been looking for a THC vape he thought was next to a bed in his home. The man struck his significant other multiple times and caused bruising after the victim said she didn’t know where the vape was. The release said Kemper dragged the woman back into the house, restrained the victim on a bed and hit her in the face.
Officials said the victim believed Kemper was “going to kill her.” The victim’s children also witnessed some of the abuse.
While Kemper was in custody in the Dodge County Jail, officials said he convinced another inmate to let him use their identification number to make a phone call.
The release said Kemper had used the phone to call the victim and expressed his anger with her for making a written statement about the abuse.
Kemper told the victim to “fix it or he was going to do 30 years in prison.” He also told the victim she needed to tell authorities the statement was a lie and that her injuries were self-inflicted.
