MADISON, Wis. — A Madison man is accused of driving while intoxicated and crashing into another vehicle downtown Sunday night.
Madison police said the crash happened at the intersection of Johnson and State streets around 8:30 p.m.
Zachary M. McDonald, 26, faces several charges, such as second-offense OWI charges causing injury.
Police said McDonald was speeding near the intersection when he rear-ended another vehicle stopped for a red light. The driver of that vehicle was taken to a local hospital.
Police said McDonald admitted to consuming both alcohol and marijuana before the crash.
He was taken to the hospital for a blood draw prior to being booked into the Dane County Jail.
