WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. — SSM Health partnered with the Sauk County Health Department to offer the combination of shots and waterslides Tuesday.
The COVID-19 vaccine was available for everyone ages 12 and older during a pop-up vaccination clinic at Noah’s Ark in Wisconsin Dells — an area that depends on tourism.
“I think it’s so important just to see people coming back through and just to see that tourist industry opening back up, and so we can’t stress the importance of getting that vaccine, reaching that herd immunity status, especially at waterparks where people aren’t going to be wearing their masks, it makes the vaccine all the more important,” said SSM Health’s Michelle Schmitt.
SSM Health says a total of 155 people were vaccinated at Tuesday’s pop-up clinic, with 94 people getting the Pfizer vaccine and 61 getting the one-dose Johnson & Johnson shot.
So far, SSM Health has helped provide more than 253,000 vaccine doses across 13 counties.
