MADISON, Wis. — Evening commutes across southern Wisconsin are being affected as several cases of road buckling are being reported.
Continuing a trend during our recent stretch of hot weather, multiple lanes of traffic are closed late in the afternoon while crews try to make repairs.
Areas affected include a northbound lane of Highway 151 near Walnut Road in Dodge County, a northbound lane of Highway 51 near Siggelkow Road in McFarland, all eastbound lanes of Highway 12 at County Highway W near Baraboo and a northbound lane of Highway 151 near County Highway ID in Dane County.
All four incidents were reported within an hour by the Department of Transportation. Lane closures are expected to last between one and two hours while repairs are made.
Highway 12 in Sauk County has seen multiple pavement buckles, an issue the DOT says they will look into, including looking at construction logs to determine why the road is buckling so frequently.
