MADISON, Wis. — The seven-day positivity rate for new COVID-19 tests in Wisconsin has fallen below 1% for the first time in more than a year, according to the state Department of Health Services.
As of Thursday, the seven-day average percent positive by test has dropped to 0.9%.
The seven-day average of new cases per day has reached 85, which is even lower than Wednesday’s case average. Wisconsin has reached an all-time total of 611,943 confirmed cases.
The state’s seven-day average for new COVID deaths has once again remained at one, and the statewide death toll since the start of the pandemic has amassed 7,230.
The DHS said 2,873,061 residents have received at least one dose of vaccine, or 49.3% of the state’s eligible population. Health officials said 2,610,837 people have completed the vaccine series, or 44.8% of Wisconsin.
A total of 5,413,474 doses have been administered throughout the state, including 8,117 in the past day.
