MADISON, Wis. — Officials with the Madison Fire Department rescued two people Monday after their sailboat overturned on Lake Monona.
The Madison Fire Department’s Lake Rescue Team was sent to Tonyawatha Trail in Monona at around noon. An incident report said neither of the two boaters were hurt, and both had been wearing life jackets.
The Lake Rescue Team brought the two aboard a rescue boat and gave them dry blankets. Officials said the team later recovered the sailboat and towed it along as they brought the boaters to shore.
