MADISON, Wis. — Six people and one dog are displaced after a fire caused by improperly discarded fireworks in the early morning hours of July 4.
Firefighters were dispatched at 1:38 a.m. to a single-family house on Star Spangled Trl. to reports of smoke and flames.
Everyone in the residence was able to escape through a back door. No injuries have been reported.
Two adults, four children, and one dog are being assisted by the American Red Cross with accommodations.
Damage is estimated at $100,000.
