WEST BEND, Wis. — A Silver Alert has been issued for a Washington County man who went missing Sunday night.
The state Department of Justice said Michael Leinen, 76, was last seen in Fairmount, North Dakota, at around 7 p.m. on the Fourth of July. Officials said he was leaving 179th Ave S/E in his white 2005 GMC Yukon while pulling a 12-foot open trailer with wood sides.

Leinen was headed to his home address on CTY TK P in West Bend and has not yet arrived. Family members last heard from Leinen at around 9 a.m. Monday. At the time, Leinen said he was lost and traveling westbound on Interstate-90. His family believes his phone’s battery died, as he has not answered his phone.
His normal route for the trip is said to be I-94 eastbound from Fairmount, ND to Highway 33 to West Bend. His family also told officials he would regularly use the waysides on I-94 and stop for gas in Summerset when making the trip.
Leinen is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs 155 pounds and has hazel eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing gray shorts and a white T-shirt with “Leinen Family Reunion” written on it. His SUV has the Wisconsin license plate GF9785.
