MADISON, Wis. — Chandler Halderson, the son of a Windsor couple reported missing last week, may face a murder charge in the death of his father.
Dane County authorities on Monday confirmed that dismembered human remains found Thursday belong to 50-year-old Bart Halderson.
According to the Dane County Jail’s online inmate roster, Chandler Halderson, 23, is being held on accusations of first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse and mutilating a corpse and providing false information on a kidnapping.
As of Monday evening, Halderson had not yet been charged with any crimes. He was originally taken into custody on July 8 for lying to police about the investigation into his parents’ disappearance.

Halderson is currently being held in Dane County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond, despite the state asking for $1 million bail. Court documents obtained by News 3 Now show why law enforcement officials believe Halderson lied to them regarding the investigation.
Prosecutors are expected to file charges against Halderson by Thursday.
