MADISON, Wis. — Madison police have arrested two men after one of them allegedly used pepper spray during a Monday evening argument on State Street.
Authorities with the Madison Police Department said they had to rely on surveillance cameras to piece together the incident because of contradicting stories shared at the scene.
According to an incident report, the surveillance footage showed the victim, a 33-year-old man, walking away from the two suspects who then followed him. An argument broke out and one of the suspects sprayed the victim with pepper spray.
Two men, 20-year-old Timothy WF Murray and 20-year-old Keshawn Brown, were taken into custody in connection with the incident. One of them reportedly kicked the door of a squad car during his arrest.
The pair are facing potential charges of intentional use of pepper spray causing harm, bail jumping, disorderly conduct and resisting/obstructing an officer.
The victim was ultimately transported to a local hospital by police.
