MADISON, Wis. — News 3 Now is partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County to make sure area students have the supplies they need for the fall school year.
After a year of virtual learning for many students, families are expecting to pay more for back-to-school supplies. The National Retail Federation estimates parents will pay $849 a household on average, totaling $37 billion nationwide. That’s up from $34 billion last year.
News 3 Now is taking action to help counteract that cost with a back-to-school supplies drive in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club. The drive runs Aug. 2 – 13 across the greater Madison area. The Club has compiled a list of supplies that will help students ranging in age from 2 to 24 years old. There are several different ways you can donate:
- Make a monetary donation online via the Boys and Girls Club
- Choose items from the Amazon Wish List
- Drop off your unused school supplies at News 3 Now studios at 7025 Raymond Road or any Boys and Girls Club location
