WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. — A statewide AMBER Alert is being issued for a 2-month-old baby boy after authorities say he was taken by his mother and may need immediate medical attention.
The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department says it was investigating a possible child neglect or abuse case and was trying to check on the wellbeing of 2-month-old Dorian Giesen.
When officers tried to meet with his mother, Haley N. Pelot, she allegedly sped off, starting a car chase. Police stopped the chase when Pelot allegedly threatened physical harm to the baby.
Authorities say Dorian has a life-threatening medical condition that requires medication multiple times per day, and they do not believe Pelot has the medication with her.
Pelot is described as being 5’1″ tall and approximately 120 pounds with hazel eyes and brown hair. She has a number of distinguishing tattoos, including “Hales” on her neck, a tribal rose on her leg, a flower on the left side of her ribs and two hearts on her back.
She’s believed to be driving a silver 2002 Toyota Camry with a black front bumper and Wisconsin plates AHY 5345.
Anyone who sees the car or Pelot is asked to immediately call the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department at 715-421-8701.
