OREGON, Wis. — The Oregon School District announced on Tuesday its COVID safety plan for the start of the school year.
According to an email sent to families, the Back Together Plan incorporates feedback the district has received from students, families and staff, as well as things it learned over the past year. It also took into account guidance from experts.
The plan offers full in-person teaching and learning for all students, but an online option for those who require or prefer that option.
When it comes to COVID safety in the buildings, masking indoors and on buses will be required for all teachers, staff and students, but masks are optional outdoors. Everyone is also asked to complete a daily screening at home, and work on personal hygiene practices.
Teachers and staff will also prioritize building relationships and caring for the social and emotional as well as academic needs of students.
Online registration for the district opens Aug. 16. Classes are set to begin Sept. 1.
