MADISON, Wis. — If you hear loud alarms from your electronics Wednesday afternoon, don’t be alarmed.
The FCC and FEMA are scheduled to conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts. The test is scheduled for 1:20 p.m. Wednesday.
The Wireless Emergency Alert part of the test will be sent to phones that have opted in to get the texts. Messages will be sent in either English or Spanish, depending on the device’s language settings.
