More than $2-million dollars is being awarded to five counties in southwest Wisconsin as part of Governor Tony Evers’ Routes to Recovery – Local Government Aid Grants program. Funding is allocated to every city, county, village and town to help local governments with COVID-19 recovery needs. In this area – Grant County will get $860-thousand dollars … Iowa County received $390-thousand … Lafayette County with $275-thousand … Crawford County with $270-thousand … and Richland County getting $290-thousand dollars. The funding comes from the federal CARES Act. The governor says the grants will provide financial flexibility to communities. The funds can go towards things such as emergency operations, public health services, the purchase of personal protective equipment, cleaning supplies, temporary isolation for infected people, as well as testing and tracing costs.
