GREEN LAKE, Wis. — Members of a Green Lake County home have been displaced after the residence was struck by lightning Tuesday night.
Dispatchers received a report of a structure fire at W2240 Oakwood Ave. in the Township of Green Lake shortly after 7 p.m., according to a news release from the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The residents safely evacuated the home, and no injuries were reported.
The Grand River Fire District and other agencies were at the scene for roughly two-and-a-half hours. Crews were able to successfully extinguish the fire and prevented the blaze from spreading to other parts of the home, though the residence sustained smoke and water damage.
Grand River Fire received help from the Brandon/Fairwater Fire Department, Ripon Area Fire District, Princeton Fire Department, Friesland Fire Department, Kingston Fire Department, Dalton Fire Department, Marquette Fire Department and Fond du Lac County District 1 RIT Team.
