MADISON, Wis. — The Madison Police Department stopped 30 vehicles Thursday morning during a traffic enforcement project on East Johnson Street.
The project focused on speeding as well as other traffic violations such as not wearing seat belts.
The department said the average speed for those people who were stopped was 42 mph in the 25 mph zone. The fastest person they stopped was going 54 mph, and two other drivers were going 48 mph.
MPD’s enforcement efforts are funded through overtime grants provided by the state Department of Transportation.
