Lancaster Opening Some Public Areas

Lancaster city officials are scaling back some restrictions regarding access to city properties. In a statement Thursday afternoon, Mayor David Varnam said he’s ending restrictions to city owned restrooms in city parks. That move takes effect at 8 a.m. Friday (May 29) and means playground equipment will be available again as well. However, all park shelters, ball diamonds and other fields are closed for rental purposes through June 15. Those areas do remain open for personal use. Mayor Varnam has also announced that public access to Lancaster’s City Hall will be allowed by appointment only starting at 8 a.m. Monday (June 1).
