MADISON, Wis. — Madison police say they were able to track down a man wanted in a weapons offense after he was sprayed by a skunk Monday night.
Officers were originally sent to Bram Street near the Alliant Energy Center just before 9 p.m. Monday after getting reports of a man who was high on narcotics and acting out of control while holding a knife.
The man, 37-year-old Michael Ring, allegedly ran off, leading to officers canvassing the area. During the time he tried to hide, police say Ring was apparently sprayed by a skunk.
He was eventually found cutting a vehicle’s tires with the knife and was arrested. Police say they took him to the hospital for medical clearance before booking him into the Dane County Jail on tentative charges of discharging bodily fluids on a public safety worker, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct while armed, criminal damage to property, and a previous warrant.
