DEFOREST, Wis. — The newest school in DeForest is now officially open.
Harvest Intermediate School hosted an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday.
The new 205,000-square foot building was funded through a referendum in 2019.
“Once the referendum was passed, we began the process of design and community input, and the result is this beautiful building,” DeForest Area School District superintendent Eric Runez said.
The new school building features a multi-purpose cafeteria with a full kitchen, library media center, gymnasium, secure main entrance and classrooms for 4th, 5th and 6th grade students.
Runez says rooftop solar panels will also be installed in the coming weeks.
