MADISON, Wis. – It’s back-to-school for many students across the area this week, and that includes those at the Madison Metropolitan School District.
Thursday, September 2nd marks the return for the rest of the students at MMSD, after some grade levels began the school year on Wednesday.
School officials say they are excited to have most students back in the classroom this fall.
MMSD is requiring all students and staff, regardless of vaccination status, to wear masks indoors and on buses.
Elementary and middle school students will also have to wear masks at all outdoor events, the district announced Wednesday. School officials said the requirement applies to staff, families and visitors at the district’s middle and elementary schools. It also applies to all after-school childcare and activities.
