MADISON, Wis. — More than five dozen local organizations are getting a financial boost thanks to a grant program that aims to support groups working to provide services to underserved communities.
Dane County Executive Joe Parisi said the grant program was launched to provide relief to local non-profits in light of the pandemic.
“Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, local non-profits have worked tirelessly to support our community and deliver services under unprecedented circumstances,” Parisi said. “These grants will help our local non-profits recover from the impacts of the ongoing pandemic and boost their ability to support underserved communities. We congratulate the recipients and thank them for their commitment to serve the Dane County community.”
The program is funded by money the county received from the American Rescue Plan Act. Each of the 66 non-profits chosen will receive one-time grants. Grant allocations ranged from $50,000 to $250,301.
Parisi said smaller, emerging organizations that serve low-income communities and individuals that also didn’t get prior COVID relief were given priority.
The grant program was first announced in May.
