MADISON, Wis. — Sherman Middle School is unveiling two murals on Friday, meant to celebrate equity.
The murals, called “Lift Up” and “Rise Up,” are centered around the themes of dreaming fearlessly, empowerment and equality.
Dane Arts Mural Arts got ideas for the installation by asking students “What does it mean for you to dream fearless?”
“Every time we work with students, with young people, our main goal is to really instill a sense of belonging into their community as well as the school and also inspire them to dream fearless,” Dane Arts Mural Arts Executive Director Veronica Figuer-Velez said Friday.
