BELOIT, Wis. — A 19-year-old was found dead laying between two houses Sunday morning, Beloit police say.
According to police, the man’s death is being investigated as a homicide, the fourth so far in 2021 in the city.
Police said there were only two homicides in 2020.
In a news conference, police said there is no information on any suspects at this time, but said the 19-year-old was shot to death by gunfire.
The victim is not being identified at this time.
“This will not be tolerated,” said Chief Andre Sayles in a statement. “Our men and women here at the Beloit Police Department are out actively seeking justice for those who are harmed by gunfire in the City of Beloit.”
The investigation began Sunday morning when police investigated a “suspicious death” in the 300 block of Portland Avenue.
