MADISON, Wis. — Communities around Wisconsin are gathering to remember the lives of the victims of the 9/11 attacks, and honor first responders.
Here is where you can go in southern Wisconsin to remember the events of September 11th, 2001.
Madison — 9/11 Name Reading at 8:46 a.m. at the City of Madison Fire Station 14, 3201 Dairy Drive. This event is part of a nationwide program put on by 60 communities across the country to honor the 2,983 victims of the September 11th attacks and the World Trade Center Bombing on February 26, 1993.
Madison — 10th Annual 9/11 Never Forget Blood Drive from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Madison Fire Station 14, 3201 Dairy Drive. Donors will receive a $15 Visa gift card and a T-shirt.
Baraboo — Habitat for Humanity 9/11 Rememberance pre-build. A remembrance ceremony with the Daughters of the American Revolution and Sauk Co. VA will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 324 Lisa Court. Women veterans will then participate in a Habitat build from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Baraboo — 9/11 20th Anniversary Memorial Stair Climb at Baraboo High School Football Field from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Columbia County — 9/11 Ceremonies at Kilbourn Fire Department, 712 Oak Street, Wisconsin Dells, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and at Portage High School Football Field, East Slifer Street, Portage, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Columbia County — September 24th and 25th, the American Legion will hold a “Celebration of Freedom” at 2930 American Legion Drive, Portage. A full schedule of events can be found on the Legion’s website. Masks are required for indoor events.
Endeavor/Moundville — 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at Endeavor/Moundville Fire Department at 631 South Limits Rd starting at noon.
Oregon — 9/11 Tribute and Night Market at Waterman Park from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
