MADISON, Wis. — LaborFest may have been canceled this year, but the AFL-CIO and United Way of Dane County are still asking for donations this Labor Day.
The Community Services Committee of the South Central Federation of Labor is requesting gift cards of all kinds, to help homeless students and their families.
The group is also asking for smaller items such as laundry soap, colored pencils, composition books, flashcards, deodorant, lotion, non-permanent markers, African American hair products, and pocket folders.
Those who wish to make a donation can contact AFL-CIO Community Services Liaison Ann McNeary at labor@uwdc.org or 608-246-4355. Donations can be dropped off at Anderson United Way Center if arranged in advance.
Gift cards can be mailed to Ann McNeary at 2059 Atwood Avenue, Madison, Wis. 53704.
