Traffic Fatality on Highway 23 Near Dodgeville

A man from Stoughton died in a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles and a farm tractor near Dodgeville Saturday. 53 year old Brian Lind of Stoughton died in the crash around 11am. According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, 18 year old Jacob Gardner was heading north on Highway 23 on a farm tractor when he attempted to turn left into a private driveway. As he was making the turn across the southbound lane, a southbound vehicle driven by Lind was struck on the driver’s side. The collision caused Lind’s vehicle  to collide with an SUV driven by 61 year old Michael Kiep of Wheaton, Illinois that was exiting the private driveway. Lind was pronounced dead at the scene. Lind’s front seat passenger, Diana Lind, was taken to Upland Hills Health for non-life-threatening injuries. Gardner reported no injuries. Kiep and his passenger, Teresa Richardson, were taken to Upland Hills Health with non-life-threatening injuries.
