The Wisconsin Supreme Court said it won’t block a lower court’s ruling regarding construction of a high-power transmission line. The companies behind the Cardinal-Hickory Creek project asked the state supreme court to step in. That’s after a Dane County Judge granted an injunction to halt construction while the court considers challenges to permits for the nearly $500-million dollar project. The high court told officials for American Transmission Company, ITC Midwest and Dairyland Power Cooperative they can ask the court of appeals to review the injunction. Construction has already begun in areas not along federally-protected waters. The 100-plus mile line stretches from Dubuque to Dane County.
