A fire has destroyed an eastern Iowa home where several of the famed Ringling brothers were born. Crews responded to the blaze in McGregor around 11:30 Thursday morning. No injuries were reported, however the home is a total loss. Officials say the fire started due to a pellet-burning stove. The Ringling family lived in McGregor during the 1860s. Four of the Ringling Brothers were born in the home. They grew popularity in the late 1800s and early 1900s operating a nationally-known circus.
