A Dubuque man arrested on an arson charge based on a DNA match from a cigarette has pleaded not guilty. 58 year old Mark Fishler was arrested last week on a charge of first-degree arson. His attorney also filed a motion asking the court to reduce Fishler’s $35,000 cash bond, calling it “excessive.” Fishler was charged with arson after a rent dropbox with envelopes and paper towels soaked in a flammable substance and a partially burnt cigarette was found at the Terrace Heights business office last December.
