The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday released the names of the two people found dead in a residence in rural Galena. The people found Wednesday were a married couple; 66 year old Debra Welp, and 62 year old Danny Welp, both of Galena. Sheriff Kevin Turner said on Thursday that a friend went to check on the Welps and alerted authorities that they were dead. Turner anticipates that autopsies will be conducted today, after which authorities will release additional details. Authorities have not released any information regarding the manner of the deaths or the location at which the Welps were found.
