JANESVILLE, Wis. — Firefighters put out a fire at the Kohl’s store at the Uptown Janesville Mall Friday evening.
In a news release, the Janesville Fire Department said they received a report of a fire at the store in the 2500 block of Milton Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. Friday. When firefighters got to the scene, they found smoke filling the store and a fire in the bedding section at the back of the store.
The store’s sprinkler system helped keep the flames from spreading until firefighters could extinguish the fire.
Customers had evacuated before firefighters arrived.
The fire department transported one customer who was “upset and anxious” due to the fire, the release said. No other injuries were reported.
Officials are still investigating what caused the fire.
