MADISON, Wis. — The annual Crazylegs Classic run/walk will again close several streets in downtown Madison Saturday.
City officials say the streets most affected by the race will be West Gilman Street, Langdon Street, University Avenue, West Johnson Street, North Charter Street, and West Dayton Street.
You should plan to take extra time if you are traveling downtown — and especially in those areas — between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday. Metro Transit buses on Routes 2, 4, 6, 7, 13 and 80 will also be detoured; click here for more information.
Walkers will start their 2-mile route at about 9:50 a.m., while runners will start their 8K route at about 10:15 a.m. at the Library Mall. Both groups will — as always — end their routes at Camp Randall Stadium, with the Crazylegs Block Party being held at the finish line at the north end of the stadium. You can see the full route here or below.
Every year, about 12,000 people participate in the race, raising money for the UW Athletic Department. The race first started in 1982, with more than 354,000 runners and walkers taking part since then.
