Authorities have released the name of a driver killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday in Dubuque. According to a sheriff’s office report, 24-year-old Blake Winfrey was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies were dispatched around 5am Sunday to the Northwest Arterial near JFK Road for debris on the roadway. Upon arrival, officials discovered the crash. Two of Winfrey’s passengers – ages 6 and 7 – were taken to an area hospital, where both were then transported by Med-Flight to University of Iowa Hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
