ROXBURY, Wis. — Authorities arrested three people early Thursday morning after Dane County Sheriff’s Office deputies reportedly caught them in the middle of an attempted burglary.
Deputies with the sheriff’s office responded to a burglary in progress call at a home in the 7500 block of Highway 12 around 3:35 a.m.
When they arrived, deputies reportedly found an open door and a broken window at the home. Law enforcement set up a perimeter around the home and made contact with the three suspects, all of whom were arrested on tentative charges of criminal trespassing.
Dane County officials identified the suspects as a 27-year-old man, a 37-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man.
One suspect — the 37-year-old woman — was also arrested on a tentative charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, and the two men were arrested on tentative charges of bail jumping.
Authorities said a Sauk County K-9 responded to the scene and helped officers find more drug paraphernalia and BB guns inside the suspects’ vehicle.
News 3 Now is not naming the suspects at this time as part of a policy not to name people accused of crimes until they have been formally charged in court. Click here to learn more about the policy. Two of the three suspects are currently being held in the Dane County Jail.
