MADISON, Wis. — Madison police cited a man last week after he accidentally fired his gun while working on the weapon in his apartment.
Officers were called to an apartment building in the 600 block of Bear Claw Way around 4:30 p.m. Thursday after a man reported hearing a loud bang that he believed was a gunshot. The caller also said he found a bullet in his living room.
When officers searched the caller’s apartment, they found a bullet hole in one of the walls.
No one was injured, according to an incident report.
The man who was cited later admitted to police that he accidentally fired the weapon while working on it. Police said he legally owned the gun.
Authorities said they ultimately cited the man for endangering the safety of another by negligent use of a weapon.
