Teen Dead In UTV Crash

A 14-year-old from Darlington is dead, and another teen is seriously injured after a UTV crash Saturday night in the Town of Belmont. A report from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called shortly after 10pm to private property on County Road G. Upon arrival, officials pronounced Jordan Beesecker dead at the scene. A 16-year-old – Mikayla Stephens, also of Darlington – was trapped under the UTV. Stephens was freed and then airlifted to UW Hospital in Madison. Investigators say Beesecker was operating the UTV in a pasture and lost control of the vehicle. The UTV overturned, ejecting both occupants – neither was wearing a seatbelt.
