MADISON, Wis. — The Badger faithful have been waiting a long time to “jump around”. It’s been 288 days since Wisconsin’s last home game, but gameday was finally back on Saturday.
Badgers fans of all ages flooded the streets in celebration, grilling, drinking, and patiently waiting out the final hours before their beloved Badgers took the field.
A brand new season and a ranked Badgers team have stirred up excitement that you have to see to believe.
“The energy is absolutely unreal, it’s literally 80,000 people jumping around, it’s like a mini earthquake,” said Nathan Kavan, a UW Freshman.
Wisconsin opened a heavy 37.5-point favorite in the season opener against Illinois State. The Badgers are the winningest Power Five program since the start of the College Football Playoff era to not make the CFP, they’ll look to change that this year.
Wisconsin is at home each of the next three weeks before opening up Big Ten play at Ohio State on September 24th.
