MADISON, Wis. — Madison firefighters helped make sure a man didn’t get caught in the rain Saturday.
Officials said the man rang the doorbell at the fire station on McKenna Boulevard around 8:20 p.m. He told firefighters that he was on his way home, but his electric wheelchair was running out of power.
The man was welcomed into the station and given an electrical outlet to power his chair. By the time the chair was recharged, it was dark and raining outside, however, the man still had over a mile to trek before he made it home.
Firefighters were able to call a truck to bring the man and his chair home, and crews escorted him to ensure that he got inside safely.
