MADISON, Wis. — Madison police arrested a man Monday after they said he stole Apple products and tried to hide them in an old pizza box.
Officers were called to a business in the 400 block of West Gilman Street at around 3:15 p.m. Staff said a man took a MacBook computer, an iPad, an iPhone and an iPod and left the store. In total, police said he took about $2,500 worth of technology.
Officers were able to find the stolen devices using Apple’s “Find My” feature and caught up with the suspect in the 600 block of East Washington Avenue. Police said he was wearing the same clothes that he was described as wearing at the time of the incident, and he was hiding the stolen devices in an old pizza box.
He was arrested and faces theft charges as well as misdemeanor and felony bail jumping charges. The devices were returned to their rightful owners.
