MADISON, Wis. — A 71-year-old bicyclist was taken to a local hospital after suffering serious injuries when he was hit by someone driving a vehicle on John Nolen Drive Thursday morning.
Police said the driver of the vehicle wasn’t injured in the crash and is cooperating with law enforcement’s investigation.
The crash happened just before 7 a.m. near the intersection of John Nolen and North Shore Drives.
Emergency crews are still on the scene more than an hour after the crash, and traffic headed toward downtown Madison on John Nolen experienced severe delays. Madison Police officials said anyone driving into downtown Madison should take a different route, and did not have an estimate on how long the delays could last.
Police did not have any additional information about the crash or how it happened as crews were still investigating the incident.
