MONTICELLO, Wis. — A school nurse in Green County has been recognized as the 2022 Wisconsin Rural School Alliance Support Staff Member of the Year.
Carolyn Schwartzlow, who also serves as athletic director, was surprised with the award during a pep rally on Thursday. The award recognizes one staff member in a rural school district each year.
“When you know all the kids and you know their families and you know their situations and their circumstances, our small class sizes, but yet what we’re still able to offer kids through programming and activities, and advanced placement college credit classes at the highest level, at the high school level, it’s something special,” she said.
Schwartzlow is a 1997 graduate of Monticello High School.
