MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Health Services opened COVID-19 telehealth services Wednesday to adults across the state.
The goal is to increase access to antiviral treatments for the virus. The DHS is offering free consultation and prescription services for the treatments.
Those who use the service will meet with a healthcare clinician via a video or telephone call. The clinician can then prescribe the antiviral pills Paxlovid or Lagevrio. Over 600 pharmacies across Wisconsin are able to fill the prescriptions, and the DHS will overnight ship the medicine to patients who cannot access a pharmacy.
You can schedule an appointment through the DHS website or by calling 833-273-6330. Clinicians are available seven days a week between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. CT. The service is available in multiple languages.
The services are available to Wisconsin residents 18 years and older who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are able to take the antiviral treatment within five days of symptoms showing.
