MADISON, Wis. — The annual Fall Gallery Night highlighting Madison’s art scene took place across the city Friday.
The event, sponsored by the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, included various exhibitions, receptions and other art displays at galleries across the area.
“It’s so varied. There’s everything from paintings to ceramics, artwork demonstrations. beautiful clothing, all kinds of stuff,” Marni McEntee, MMoCA’s director of communications, said.
The event also showcased the work of eight artists from around Wisconsin with vision loss.
The Wisconsin Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired said it’s important the public knows that paintings, drawings, woodwork and more can be created in innovative ways like with access technology and magnification.
“So often folks… don’t think that people with vision loss can be artists, and our artists are so incredibly talented,” the organization’s executive director, Denise Jess, said.
The exhibits were also made accessible for visitors, with Braille and audio statements from the artists and larger print.
