MADISON, Wis. — Madison police said a homicide that occurred earlier this year was justified.
Police said Monday that no charges will be filed in connection with the death of a 23-year-old man on the city’s far east side in June. The decision comes after an investigation and consultation with the Dane County District Attorney.

The man was found with a chest wound just before 5:30 a.m. on June 12 in the 5600 block of Black Onyx Drive. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
A person of interest was taken into custody on the same day of the incident. Police later said the victim and the person of interest were in a domestic relationship.
