MIDDLETON, Wis. — Voters in Middleton said Tuesday they’re experiencing long lines at polling locations in the area, with some voters waiting more than two hours to cast their ballot.
Dane County Clerk Scott McDonell has confirmed to News 3 Now that the long lines are due to a shortage of poll workers in both the city and town of Middleton. News 3 Now has received several reports from viewers describing long wait times at the Town of Middleton’s polling place.
One viewer, Karen Steiner, reported being in line for a total of two hours and 55 minutes before she was able to cast her vote.
“The line was friendly and enthusiastic despite the long wait,” Steiner said.
Another voter, Steve Kurr, said the hourslong wait was worth it.
“There’s a lot at stake in our state,” Kurr said. “There’s no reason why I wouldn’t want to be out here and vote. I’m not going to pass up a chance to have a say.”
