MONROE, Wis. — Voters in Monroe have approved a referendum that would provide funding for a new high school.
The referendum — which asked voters to approve general obligation bonds of no more than $88,000,000 to buy land and build the new school — passed with 3,741 voters choosing yes and 3,121 voters choosing no.

The referendum also covers funding to maintain and improve Abraham Lincoln Elementary School.
The district estimated the tax impact of the referendum, accounting for state revenue limits and aid allocations, would be about a $13 increase per $100,000 of property value.
